Local Attractions

We are located within easy reach of some of the most diverse, beautiful and interesting countryside in southern Normandy and Brittany. There are many historic towns and sleepy villages closeby, to entertain both adults and the kids. Enjoy the many local weekly markets with their fresh local tasty produce. Always a good place to meet the locals. Plus most (nearly all) the areas beaches are sandy, which is a real bonus.

The pleasure of Normandy lies in its landscapes: the lush meadows and orchards, the forests, rivers, lakes and spas; the sandy beaches that stretch right around the coast. Dotted with half timbered houses and farm buildings, thriving hedgerows and abundant wildlife Normandy reminds the British visitor of a disappearing England.

As does the pace of life, which is restful, dedicated to enjoying rather than racing through life. A shared meal, spending time with the family, a gentle walk - it's what the French call l'art de vivre.

From the days when William the Conqueror set forth for Hastings right through to the Allied landings during WW2, Britain's and Normandy's history have been inextricably entwined which is perhaps another reason why many of us feel so immediately at home in the region. Normandy is both foreign, yet familiar and British visitors are assured of a warm welcome.
